Are you interested in electric powered boats? Do you own (or have you ever thought of owning) an electric boat? Or do you enjoy the thought boating without the hassle, noise and smell of the internal combustion engine, the unpredictability of sail or the labour of oars?
The Electric Boat Association of Australia (EBAA) has been set up by a group of electric boat enthusiasts to provide a forum for the promotion of electric boats and electric boating.
- Promote the development of environmentally friendly zero emission boating generally
- Promote the development of electric boating in particular
- Provide a forum for interchange of ideas and information between those sharing this interest
- Provide links between boat users and commercial interests servicing their needs
- Lobby for controlled access to suitable waterways and establishment of facilities for electric boats
Electric Boating has developed strongly over recent years with improvements in the technology and with increasing awareness of the environmental and financial costs of reliance on hydrocarbon fuels. In regions such as USA, UK and Europe electric boating is now well established and is well supported by strong regional Associations (eg the Electric Boat Association of the UK, the EBA).
The Electric Boat Association of Australia is newly formed. To develop further we need a solid base of interested members. If you have an interest in this area we invite you to become a member or associate member.
