13 – 21 March 2010: Try Electric Boating Week in Sydney

Following last year’s successful edition during Sydney Harbour Week, Eco Boats Australia organises ‘Try Electric Boating Week’ again this year.

People are welcome at Northbridge Marina (by appointment only) to try electric boats themselves at a greatly reduced rental rate. For those interested they will explain how an electric boat works and show you a typical electric boat set-up, drive systems and batteries.
Try Electric Boating Week will run from Saturday 13 until Sunday 21 March 2010.
Up to 8 people per boat - No licence required - Bookings essential.

February 2010 - EBAA Presentation for Alternative Technology Association

ata_presentationOn 9 February the EBAA’s Secretary Steven Mullie and business member Armin Pauza from Lithium Batteries Australia held a presentation on electric boating and battery technology for the ATA Sydney branch.

Various topics were discussed, such as the history of electric boating, various boat models and applications, inboard and outboard electric drive systems, development in battery technology such as Lithium and options to convert an existing boat to clean & quiet electric propulsion.
